Site Coordinator

Full-time Site Coordinator for a middle school with a 21st Century Community Learning Centers' after-school program that is a licensed childcare center for 43 weeks of the year (late August to mid-June). 

Experienced, high-energy, committed youth development program leader capable of effectively managing a team of individuals and partners to deliver needed school-wide and targeted individualized services for students aged 11-14 years old. Services include a four-days/week after-school program and interventions that are designed and delivered to help students with moderate challenges in reading, writing, math, attendance and behavior to become proficient.

Applicants must meet the criteria to serve as the “program director” for the school site, under the terms of the Michigan Child Care Licensing Act and must meet the criteria for Title I reimbursement for Site Coordinator.  In general, these qualifications mean a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a child/youth development area or equivalent education and experience.  

Exceptional organizational. interpersonal and communication (written, verbal, listening) skills. Equivalent of at least 3 years of full-time experience in youth development programs.  Demonstrated knowledge in child/adolescent development and the capacity to guide, direct, and inspire others to engage middle school students in learning and problem-solving. 

Previous experience in supervising others required, including working in the context of a team.   

Skill in computer usage for data entry, reporting, communication (e-mail). 

Michigan Driver's License and the availability of a vehicle for attending meetings or the occasional transport of students or parents.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including four days/week after school and occasional evenings.
