Every day, there are children in our community who are absent from school, missing valuable instructional time, or distracted by physical discomfort or embarrassment. It’s hard to learn when you aren’t in class or when you can’t concentrate because you are too cold/damp/sweaty/ashamed. Sadly, there are many children who come to school improperly dressed for the weather, who are unable to access basic personal hygiene items, or who lack the necessary school supplies to effectively participate in class.
Fortunately, there is a simple solution to ensuring that these obstacles to young people’s success in school can be removed. Through Kids’ Closet, you can help meet immediate needs for clothing, personal hygiene products, and school supplies for K – 12 students. The need is great. In 2012, over 9,000 items were distributed.
Please consider donating the following new items:
- Sweatpants
- Socks
- Underwear
- Shampoo
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Deodorant
- School supplies
The items collected for Kids Closet are constantly in demand. In fact, last year there was a 50% increase to basic needs requests that were met through Kids Closet.
